I'M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY ~ Jackson Holly

I"M SO LONESOME I COULD CRY ... This HANK WILLIAMS composition has a certain cosmic, universal timelessness about it ... and it moans with angst about the human condition. Don't ask me why, but I always think of VINCENT VAN GOGH and his painting STARRY NIGHT when I hear the tune, so I have used it and other Vincent paintings along with Hank photos to illustrate. I couldn't find a van Gogh train picture so I used the 1902 painting in a similar style from Hermann Pleuer. Truth is, I believe Vincent would have loved this Hank song if he ever could have heard it. I have added some electro-echo ... just seemed like it needed it.

Here are the amazingly beautiful lyrics:

"I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry"

Hear that lonesome whippoorwill
He sounds too blue to fly.
The midnight train is whining low,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

I've never seen a night so long,
When time goes crawling by.
The moon just went behind a cloud,
To hide its face and cry.

Did you ever see a Robin weep,
When leaves begin to die?
That means he's lost his will to live.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.

The silence of a falling star,
Lights up a purple sky.
And as I wonder where you are,
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
I'm so lonesome I could cry.
