Rihanna, Drake lead VMA nods; Clooney sells car for charity

Rihanna has garnered five nods for this year's MTV Video Music Awards. The nominations were announced on Tuesday (July 31) and Rihanna tied with Drake for most noms. Coming in at number two was Katy Perry, who earned four nominations.

There was one surprising omission from the list. Lady Gaga didn't earn one nomination for her famously mini-movie length videos. The awards will be handed out in Los Angeles on September 06.

Kate - The Duchess of Cambridge - topped "Vanity Fair's" annual International Best-Dressed List. It's the third time on the list for the wife of the future King of England - who sometimes changes outfits five times a day due to her required itinerary.

George Clooney is selling off one of his prized cars for a good cause. The actor is auctioning off his 2008 Tesla "Signature 100" Roadster with all proceeds going to aid Sudan. Valued at more than 100,000 dollars, Clooney's electric car will hit the auction block on August 18.

Finally, Katy Perry was in Rio de Janeiro to premiere her concert movie, "Katy Perry: Part of Me." Hundreds of fans lined up at the pink carpet to see the singer, who said she made the trip to show her gratitude to her Brazilian fans.
