Arab nations urge Assad to give up power

Arab nations have offered safe passage to Syrian president Bashar al-Assad if he steps down, Qatar's prime minister said.

Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber al-Thani made the announcement after a ministerial meeting of the Arab league here in Doha.
