Women come out in full force for Egypt elections
Egyptians voted for the first time since their Arab Spring uprising ousted former-leader Hosni Mubarak; and people say it's the calmest vote they've ever seen in heavily armed upper Egypt.
And it's not only men who are casting ballots.
Women, both Muslim and Christian, have come out in full force to vote - an unusual scene in this conservative region of the country where women don't normally play a prominent role in politics.
What's more, there were no signs of violence or coercion. Some election violations did occur as few parties continued to campaign even as voting was underway. For the most part, however, voting went smoothly.
