Afghan businessmen lament government apathy

As foreign troops begin to pull out of Afghanistan, attention is focusing on how the country can develop a sustainable economy.
Business has not prospered due to high taxes and corruption, and in the town of Herat, 130 of this city's three hundred factories have closed in the last six years.
Many say due to lack of long term policy for industry, including fair taxation, there is hardly any incentive for investment.
Some Afghan businessmen complain the government is hindering, rather than helping the country's industry that is crucial to help ease the 35 per cent unemployment rate.
