Mad Men still drives Emmy wild

New shows join a list of past favorites as the Emmy nominations are announced.
Last year's winner for best TV drama, "Mad Men" and new thriller "American Horror Story" lead the pack with 17 nominations.
British drama "Downton Abbey" is close behind with 16 nods.
Reigning best TV comedy champ "Modern Family," pulled in 14 nominations.
This year, the sitcom will compete against newcomers "Girls" and political satire "Veep," as well as the established hits "The Big Bang Theory," Larry David's "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and "30 Rock."
Several movie stars were recognized for their work on the small screen, including Julianne Moore and Woody Harrelson in "Game Change," Emma Thompson in "The Song of Lunch" and Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen in "Hemingway and Gellhorn."
U.S. cable network HBO dominated the field with 81 nods.
CBS snagged 60, with PBS close behind with 58 nominations.
The Emmys are the top TV awards in the United States given out by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
