OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - Grammy Award-wining artist Sheryl Crow visited Johnson County to help those with breast cancer.
On Saturday night, Sheryl Crow preformed at Johnson County Community College. This summer celebration benefits “ Back in the Swing ,” an organization that raises funds for breast cancer research.
41 Action News’ Cynthia Newsome got an exclusive interview with the music star. The pair spoke about the importance of early detection and knowing your family’s history.
“For me, I realized through the process of doing radiation, the only person who could go through radiation was me,” Crow said in the interview. “My exercise of putting everybody above myself, I put myself at the bottom of the list isn’t going to work for me anymore.”
Crow was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2006.
