Many hybrid cars, including some models from Volvo and a model from Honda, have been found to exceed the current EMF safety levels. Toyota, who manufactures the hybrid car Prius, has refused to divulge EMF readings for the car to owners who have expressed safety concerns regarding EMF exposure.
Hybrid cars are partly powered by a battery, which is usually in the rear of the car. In most hybrid cars, there is a cable that runs underneath the driver's seat. This cable carries high-voltage direct current from the battery pack in the rear of the car to the motor in the front.
Truck drivers who sit on top of a mess of wires carrying similar voltage have been found to have high rates of kidney cancer.
To date, there have been no studies done on the long-term effects of hybrid car radiation on passengers.
