Andy Griffith has died at his North Carolina home. The actor's portrayal of small-town sheriff Andy Taylor made "The Andy Griffith Show" one of American television's most enduring series. Griffith also created another memorable character, the folksy defense lawyer "Matlock" in the 1980s and '90s. He was 86.
