STORY: Robbie Coltrane, Kelly Macdonald and Craig Ferguson were among the talent on the red carpet for the European premiere of the new Disney/Pixar animation "Brave" on Saturday (June 30).

The movie, set in a mythical medieval Scots kingdom, was being shown at the closing night gala of the 66th Edinburgh International Film Festival (EIFF).

It topped the US box office last weekend, taking in an estimated $66.3m (£42.3m) and was the 13th consecutive Pixar film to open at number one.

The actors provided the voices for some of the film's leading characters, as did some other famous names such as Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson and Julie Walters.

Tourism officials estimate that the film, the biggest internationally for Scotland since 'Braveheart', will bring an economic benefit to Scotland of around £140m.
