The Spice Girls reunite for musical launch

London was full of girl power on Tuesday (June 26). The Spice Girls reunited to launch a new musical based on the songs that made them one of the biggest bands of the 90s.

The show, called "Viva Forever!," follows the lives of four girls whose friendship is tested by fame. While the Spice Girls' level of involvement throughout the creative process was not fully clear, they were consulted on the story line and have seen early workshops.

Victoria Beckham - a.k.a Posh Spice - said the show is bigger than just the Spice Girls.

"We're going to be introducing a whole new generation to girl power."

The musical is is being produced by Judy Craymer, the mastermind behind the successful ABBA musical "Mamma Mia!"

Geri Halliwell - Ginger Spice - said that getting Craymer was a dream come true.

"We always wanted Judy Craymer. We thought, we said of which one, who would we like. The producer, was the top of our wish list was the producer of Mamma Mia! And we got her, that's amazing."

"Viva Forever!" is set to open at the Piccadilly Theatre in London's West End on December 11.
