Gas attack fugitive found after 17 years

After a 17 year manhunt Katsuya Takahashi is arrested by police in Japan.

He's the last member of the Aum Shinrikyo cult responsible for the 1995 Tokyo subway sarin gas attacks which killed 13 people and injured 6,000.

(SOUNDBITE) (Japanese) 43-YEAR-OLD SALESMAN RYOICHI KAWASHIMA SAYING:

"Everyone was unsettled and there were times when you would be scared to ride the trains. We can finally ride the trains in peace and I think everyone in Japan feels safe now."

His arrest rounds up a trio of fugitives who were at large since 1995, but were all arrested this year.

13 people from the cult have been sentenced to death for a series of crimes.
