Monowai Power Station, South Island, New Zealand.
Built in 1926.
Three alternators rated at 2350 kVA each, manufacturered by BTH and English Electric.
6,600 Volts stepped up to 33,000 Volts.

This footage was taken of one of my VHS-C holiday tapes, when I travelled the South Island with my parents in 1991.

Monowai Powerstation was upgraded around 2005-6 and these alternators were replaced with newer machines.
The building still remains and houses the newer alternators.
