Rotary converter made with a 3 phase 415 Volts motor running on a single phase 240 Volts supply.
The motor is connected in 1/2 open star arrangement with improved starting torque.
A second 3 phase motor can be started directly of the terminals of the running motor.
The capacitor used is a 400 Volts 1 kVAr power factor correction capacitor from which I used the blue and red phase connections in parrallel with the yellow connection to increase the capacity.
Cap. Value around 6 uF.
The motor did start also with the capacitor with only the red and yellow terminals connected, but remained at a very low crawling speed of about 150 RPM.

NOTE!! It is always very important to earth the motors, I know that during experimenting it may be extra work but rather be safe then sorry.
