The Beatles become chart royalty.

To mark the Queen's jubilee, the Official Charts Company announced the 12 artists who have sold more than ten million singles in the history of the chart - which was first published five months after Queen Elizabeth took the throne.

Along with the Beatles, Elvis and Cliff Richard were also named in the "Diamond Dozen," with Madonna and Michael Jackson rounding out the top five.

Paul McCartney holds two spots on the list, snagging the 11th slot as a solo artist.

New artists Rihanna and Kylie Minogue also made the cut.
