The ash cloud from the Icelandic volcano has forced many people who need to get across Europe to use road, rail and sea after their flights were cancelled.

It has been a lesson in patience, as they have had to wait hours and sometimes days to get tickets for alternative means of transport.

Al Jazeera's Jonah Hull is one of those who has been on the move.

It took him almost a week to get from Poland back to Britain.
