Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will travel to the US next week to apply for full UN membership of a Palestinian State.
Fears are growing in Israel that the bid could create more tensions and the Israeli army is preparing to use force if necessary.
Israeli settlers are also making contingency plans should there be similar attempts in settlements in the illegally occupied territories.
