Thailand losing battle on drugs

Drug enforcement officials in Thailand have said they are fighting a losing battle as they try to stem the flow of narcotics from neighbouring Myanmar.

The use of highly-addictive methamphetamine in particular is on the increase.

The problem has become so widespread some Thais are now calling for a return to the zero-tolerance policy of Thaksin Shinawatra, the former prime minister, whose "war on drugs" killed more than 2,000 people.

Al Jazeera's Wayne Hayne reports from Bangkok.
