The US has passed a bill that will free up trade restrictions on goods into the country specifically from Pakistan's North West Frontier province.

Barack Obama, the US president, hopes that more trade access for Pakistani goods such as cotton will create more jobs and prevent people there from supporting the Taliban.

But critics say the bill changes nothing and US textile manufacturers are fighting it, saying it will cost US jobs.

Al Jazeera's Imran Khan reports.
