Indonesian maids 'face abuse' in Malaysia - 11 July 09

Malaysia has pledged to improve the welfare of domestic workers employed in its households, where many more than 300,000 women from neighbouring Indonesia work as maids.

Indonesian officials say about 1,000 of those women experience abuse annually in Malaysia.

But as Al Jazeera's Step Vaessen reports, the cases of abuse have not deterred many Indonesian women from wanting to make the move.
