Thousands of Hmong face forced repatriation - 01 Mar 08

The United Nations' refugee agency is concerned about Thailand's apparent forced repatriation of a group of about a dozen ethnic Hmong back to Laos.
Thousands have lived as refugees in Thailand for decades, claiming they would be persecuted if they were forced back across the border.
However, under a repatriation pact, the Thai government will send nearly 8,000 Hmong back to Laos.
International monitors have been barred from the country but the Laos government says the Hmong will be safe.
