US warned of Afghan "militarisation" - 12 Dec 09

As the US begins to implement its new strategy in Afghanistan, much of the debate has focused on the increase in troop levels.

But another key element of the strategy is increasing human and infrastructural development inside the country.

Now, however, some aid groups have begun to express concerns about their mission - and what they've labelled the growing "militarisation of development".
