Thai PM defends policy on south Thailand - 26 Feb 09

Abhisit Vejjajiva, the Thai prime minister, has defended his government's policy to stem the violence in the country's southern provinces.

Speaking exclusively to Al Jazeera, he said justice was the key to peace in the mostly-Muslim region and that his government would "prove" that people living in southern provinces are "treated fairly".
