Robin Gibb too ill to attend concert

There was a notable absence at a concert to promote Robin Gibb's new album.
The Bee Gee was too sick to attend the scheduled appearance in London on Tuesday (April 10).
His son Robin-John - who also co-wrote the album - did the talking for them.

"To see it come to fruition and for him not to be here -- he was devastated. This was something he was looking forward to for all the time we were working on this -- two and a half years. // Today he wanted to have the requiem fed into his room but now that we're going live feed on the internet, he can easily get a good peek at it."
The 62-year-old Bee Gee said in February that he had made a "spectacular" recovery from cancer, but shortly there after returned to hospital for further treatment.
He was hospitalised late last year for stomach and colon problems and now his son confirms Robin is being treated for pneumonia.

"Yes and of course these are all the periphery problems that occur when you have an illness like that. It's not always the cancer that will get you and he has to always be treated and always keep good scrutiny on his health."
The two composed the symphonic album "Titanic Requiem" - Robin's first foray into classical music.
It was during the songwriting process that Robin discovered he had cancer.
The album, performed by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, is being released to mark the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the luxury liner.
Robin-John indicates it's likely his father will face future visits to the hospital.
But it won't stop him from making music.

"I don't think there'll ever be a time in the future where he is not in and out of hospital because you have to keep constant scrutiny on these things. But if anyone can carry on it's him -- he's a very strong individual."
