PRESENTED BY CHRISTINA CHILDRESS
Houston born singer/songwriter, Buddy Quaid, has over the years established himself as an artist who evokes a strong sense of mood and feeling through his heart-felt music and lyrics. He learned guitar and piano at a young age when a house-guest by the name of Bob Seger, encouraged Buddy to pick up the guitar and proceeded to teach Buddy the basics of what would become his life's passion.
At the age of 18, he moved to LA to start his first band, Triggerfish, winning critical acclaim and developed a loyal following at clubs such as House of Blues, Barfly and Sky Bar. While in LA, Buddy landed a role in the rock-film, Clubland where he worked with Grammy Award winning producer, Glen Ballard.
In 2004, he made his way to Austin to embark on his solo career and in 2007 released his first album, "76/96". With the success of tracks such as "Train of Tears" and "Coming Up Roses", Buddy has become a popular live act at local Austin venues such as Momo's, La Zona Rosa and Austin Music Hall. While Buddy and his band are looking forward to recording a second studio album, it is truly his live performances for fans that he lives for:
"The great thing about performing is that it allows me to be anyone I want to be. I can fix any problem, or redeem myself in a song in just a few minutes. When you are able to connect and convey those emotions to an audience...its true therapy."
