Obama tells Iran time running out to end nuclear standoff

U.S. President Barack Obama says there is still time for a diplomatic solution to resolve Iran's nuclear standoff with the West, but the clock is ticking.

In a speech to students in Seoul on the sidelines of a nuclear summit Obama accused Iran of taking the path of quote "denial, deceit and deception"

(SOUNDBITE) (English) UNITED STATES PRESIDENT BARACK OBAMA SAYING:

"There is time to solve this diplomatically, but time is short. Iran's leaders must understand that there is no escaping the choice before it. Iran must act with the seriousness and sense of urgency that this moment demands. Iran must meet its obligations."

Tehran says its nuclear program is purely peaceful. But but Israel and Western nations believe it is moving towards a nuclear bomb that could change the regional balance of power.
