US nominates development expert to lead World Bank

President Barack Obama has nominated the US candidate to head the World Bank, replacing American Robert Zoellick when he steps down in June.

He is Jim Yong Kim, a South Korean born doctor and public health expert and the former director of the Department of HIV/AIDS at the World Health Organisation.
