Rory Flynn is a Crawley based Songwriter. He has been writing & composing for the past 15 years or so and to date he has written between 250 & 300 songs, in various styles including Rock, Pop & Country. His first taste of music came when, as a kid he would listen to his parents records like , Buddy Holly, The Carpenters, Abba, Don Williams and many others. After getting an electronic keyboard as a christmas present in his early teens, he started to compose short melody's on it.
Then in 1992 he wrote his first proper song called "Love at first sight". Then in the summer of 1995 he picked up an acoustic guitar after watching Noel Gallagher perform "Wonderwall" for the very first time on television and learned the basic chords, which allowed him to structure his songs in a more professional mannor. Then in 2002 he received an Honorable mention in the Billboard Songwriting Contest for his song "Picking Up The Pieces". He was also named as a finalist in the pop category in the 2004 UK Songwriting Contest for his song "Out Of My System". And in march 2005 his song Acrobat was broadcast on the internet radio station www.skywaveradio.com. Althought he has recorded his own songs he would much rather write for other artists in future.
These days he regularly plays open mic nights in Crawley, Brighton, East Grinstead and London. He is currently in the process of organising showcase venues to plat in London.
