15-year-old boy murdered for 'witchcraft'

A Congolese couple face life sentences for the murder of a teenage boy they accused of witchcraft.

Kristy Bamu, 15, was tortured and drowned on Christmas day in 2010 by his sister Magalie and her partner Eric Bikubi in their East London home.

They believed he and his four siblings had cast a spell on another child in the family, British courts heard.

Bikubi beat Kristy and his two sisters with knives, metals bars and a hammer.

When Kristy refused to admit to witchcraft, Bikubu, at Magalie's encouragement, used this ceramic tile to crush his skull before drowning him in the bath tub.

Bikubu and Magalie will be sentenced on Monday.
