Khaled's music (pronounced Ka-lid) is the definition of East meets West. Khaled seamlessly fuses different musical genres into soulful arrangements and intricate rhythms. This unique style and sound, now dubbed Alternative World Fusion, brings together the music of cultures from the Middle East, the Mediterranean and the Americas.
The new album "The Rabbit Hole" proves that Alternative World Fusion can be dark, sexy and Rock 'n Roll when it's created by musicians with the right amount of skill and lyrical depth. Khaled Dajani is from the Middle East and moved to the U.S.A. at the age of 16. On his path, he developed a unique approach to guitar playing and a keen sense for different songwriting styles. The songs gracefully incorporate grooves such as the Brazilian Samba and Baio, the Afro-Cuban Songo and Bembe and the American Swing's Shuffle. Together they create a progressive yet familiar and organic listening experience. An experience that takes risks and is constantly evolving. It would be safe to say, Khaled's music is the unexpected.
Since the band's founding, Dajani has been working to spread a new kind of music to as many ears as possible. Khaled went on a Summer tour to a receptive audience in 2009, began building the band's social media presence, and continues to perform regularly in the New York City metropolitan area, as well as Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania. "The Rabbit Hole" has been nominated for the Outstanding Album Award at the 2010 Hoboken Music Awards. In reviewing songs from Khaled's "The Rabbit Hole" Lou Stevens of WohoMusic says, "The Rabbit Hole is an unconventional album. It makes you sit up and take notice as you travel along the changing styles, melodies and arrangements. In ten songs, your imagination can take you across different continents and cultures making the experience refreshing and enlightening. I would give Khaled's The Rabbit Hole a very strong 8/10!"
