London based band Ay Ducane bring their West Country and Indonesian roots into a distinct mix of Americana and Blues. The original duo of Galih Richardson (lead vocals and guitar) and Francis Newington (lead guitar and vocals) have recently been joined by Edward Maltby (bass) and Oliver Richens (drums).
Ay Ducane released their debut EP (The Queen and The Sultan)
in 2010, a sound that evokes the minimalism of early Dylan alongside the band's unique vocal harmonies and driving guitar. Their second EP is due for release in early 2011.
They continue to play a number of prestigious venues
across London, including The Lexington and Notting Hill Arts Club with promoters Communion, as well as The Proud Galleries, The Betsey Trotwood, Ronnie Scotts and a residency at The Troubador.
