Meryl Streep enjoys Oscar glory.

STORY: Meryl Streep said she was thrilled to win the Oscar for best lead actress on Sunday (February 26) at the annual Academy Awards. After winning her third Oscar 62-year-old Streep joked with reporters backstage saying she felt like a kid again when she won. Streep took home the accolade for her portrayal of former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher in "The Iron Lady." It was her third Academy Award to date, having previously been recognised for "Kramer vs. Kramer" in 1979 and "Sophie's Choice" in 1982.
