STORY: "The Help" Oscar nominees and fellow actresses hit the red carpet and gave their Oscar predictions at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Luncheon in Beverly Hills on Thursday (February 23).

Viola Davis, who's up for a best actress Oscar award for her role in "The Help," joked that her co-star Octavia Spencer didn't need any more awards.

"I would say Octavia, but, who needs to root for her, she just has it all," Davis said. "I'm rooting for our film because I just think it's a film that made people feel something. They wanted to change their lives, they recognized themselves. It's just a movie that convicted people's hearts."

Spencer, who's an Oscar nominee for best supporting actress, may be out thousands of dollars after losing on a bet with co-star Jessica Chastain. Spencer had wagered that she wouldn't win any awards for her role in "The Help." So far, she's won a Golden Globe, BAFTA and SAG award.

Along with Oscar nominee Spencer, the fifth annual Essence luncheon honored Kerry Washington, Pam Grier, Paula Patton and Shonda Rhimes for their roles in Hollywood. The 84th annual Academy Awards will be presented on February 26.
