Wolfgang Puck creates 50 dishes for Oscar party

It's going to be the best buffet in town: the annual Governors Ball Oscar after-party is switching from formal dining to a more lounge-like experience with 50 different dishes prepared by celebrity chef Wolfgang Puck.

This will be Puck's 18th year creating the menu for the party, where more than 1500 guests from the Oscar ceremony will mingle before heading off to various parties around Los Angeles.

Since celebrities will have to eat and circulate at the same time, this year's plates are little in size, ranging from one-bite hors d'oeuvres to small-plate entrees that will be passed throughout the evening.

SOUNDBITE: Wolfgang Puck saying (English):

"You're going to have a lot of small plates, so we're going to have for example, comfort foods like macaroni and cheese, chicken pot pie. We're going to have braised short ribs with a parmesan polenta. We're going to have Chinois lamb chops with a little mint cilantro vinegar, the Chinois lobster with a curried ginger sauce and pastas, different kind of pastas like agnolotti, we're going to have risotto with black truffles. It's going to be a whole array of food and it's going to be really very much fun."

Governors Ball producer, Cheryl Cecchetto said it was not an easy task to create a lounge-like environment.

SOUNDBITE: Cheryl Cecchetto saying (English):

"Each space has to look different so you want to move throughout the space. So you want to see what's here, what's there. It has to be interesting. It has to feel like a museum of comfort."

That comfort was created with lots of chaise longues and padded chairs - all surrounded by hanging Swarovski crystals, tabletop candles, and red floral centerpieces.

The Governors Ball will welcome Hollywood's A-list immediately after the Oscars are handed out on February 26.
