Dan Moxon graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Film Major in 2004. While going to university to pursue a directing career, dan realized his passion lied more in music and started to compose for student projects while also developing a voice and performing around Vancouver with folk duo DAN AND EMMA and his main musical project BEND SINISTER. After graduating Dan focused on touring and recording with BEND SINISTER (www.bendsinister.bandcamp.com) but also continued to score and compose for short films and projects. In 2006 he took on a job with the Media Design department of SFU and became resident composer for all of their projects including two feature documentaries 'FROM THE HEART' and 'THE FRASER RIVER JOURNEY' which both made their way to the screen on CBC and the Knowledge network. In 2007 dan scored 'SHE'S A BOY I KNEW' which premiered at VIFF and picked up the audience choice award for best Canadian Film. Meanwhile Bend Sinister grew to success touring Canada each year and building up steam with one of their first singles 'TIME BREAKS DOWN' making cbc's Top 10 songs from canada in 2008. In 2009 the band won a Music BC contest with a 50,000 prize and headed to Toronto for 2010 where they toured non stop their latest release SPRING ROMANCE who's single 'THINGS WILL GET BETTER' again made the CBC's TOP 10 songs list. Returning from Toronto in the fall of 2010, Dan has been home working on a new record with BEND SINISTER playing lots of solo shows, and working on more composing projects. This summer he scored the feature film BROTHERS AND SISTERS by Carl Bessai, which is premiering at TIFF this year.
