ROUGH CUT (NO REPORTER NARRATION):
STORY: "The Artist" star Jean Dujardin received a Screen Actors Guild award on Sunday (January 29) for outstanding performance by a male actor in a leading role for his part as a fading actor at the end of the talkies. At one point, while speaking to reporters backstage, when asked if he thought he might win the Academy Award because of the long history between SAG winners and eventual Oscar winners, Dujardin covered his ears and broke into song, belting out the French national anthem, "La Marseillaise." After causing the room to break into laughter, Dujardin said "That is my answer. Pressure. Big Pressure. No, it's unbelievable, it's amazing already," said Dujardin. "Too early to tell." Dujardin will find out who wins the best actor Oscar, along with the rest of the world, on February 26th, when the Academy Awards are handed out in Los Angeles.
