The Maximals are forced to stay in beast mode even inside their base when the predacons steal the Energon protective shield. Over time, the maximals' beast counterpart starts to take over, which in turn allows Megatron and his crew to start hunting them down.
It is up to Tigatron to help the Maximals combine their beast and robot form together to fight their beast urges while AiRazor attempt to get back the energon protective shield from the the predacon base.
