Blast in Helmand province

Three Afghan civilians were killed and 31 people wounded, among them three foreigners, in a car bomb attack in Lashkar Gah city, in southern Helmand province, on Thursday (January 26), said Dawood Ahmadi, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
Helmand province has been the site of some of the most vicious fighting of the war.
The gradual transition of security control to Afghan forces is due to be completed by the end of 2014.
