Syria rejects Arab League plan

In Homs ---- locals searched through debris of a building they say was destroyed by security forces. Other video posted to a social media website showed thousands of people gathered for the funeral of a fallen protester in Deraa. Mourners carried the coffin through the streets, chanting "We will sacrifice our blood and soul for you." ... Reuters cannot independently verify this video.
Efforts to end the unrest in the county were uncertain on Tuesday with Damascus rejecting an Arab League call for President Bashar al-Assad to step down and make way for a unity government.

SOUNDBITE:Walid Al-Moualem, Syrian Foreign Minister saying (Arabic):
"The solution in Syria is definitely not the solution issued by the Arab League, and we refused. The solution is a Syrian one that emerges from the benefits of Syrian people."
The Arab League's has also requested to extend its monitoring mission in the country but is still waiting on an answer from the government.
