Surveillance system aims to prevent violence

The Sigard system, made by Sound Intelligence, has the ability to "spot verbal aggression before it turns into a violent outbreak" enabling security personnel or police to intervene before incidents occur, according to the company's website. The technology has already been installed in several town centers in Holland and recently completed a trial in Coventry in the UK. But opponents of the system accuse it of infringing on people's privacy.
