Toxic Fuels

We need to cut greenhouse gas emissions now if we are to prevent catastrophic climate change. And yet, companies are already planning environmentally-destructive energy - 'toxic fuel' - projects far into the future. WWF, in partnership with The Co-operative Financial Services, is campaigning for the carbon impact of these projects to be made more transparent - for the sake of the planet and to help ensure our pensions and other investments are protected. At the launch of the Toxic Fuels campaign WWF-UK and The Co-operative Financial Services were outside the Canadian Embassy in London to protest at the continued expansion of the destructive projects that exploit Albertan tar sands. We were joined by delegates from the Canadian Beaver Lake Cree who supported our call.
