The action takes place in 1908-1914, respectively. The famous painter-decorator, Platon A., wants to extend the life of a man in the sculpture and the drawings in an attempt to overcome death, and improve the world with his talent. For many years he haunted the mind of the contest with the Almighty. He was the author of magnificent wax dummies, wanted to create something perfect and eternal, not amenable to the passage of time.
