President Wulff visits Japan after the catastrophe | People & Politics

German president Christian Wulff's visit to Japan was originally planned to mark 150 years of diplomatic ties between the two countries, but in the aftermath of the earthquake and tsunami in March his visit has become an expression of solidarity with the people of Japan. He has been to the worst affected region of Fukushima and met survivors of the disaster.
