MyLocalBuzzTV – Kids in Sports LA – Los Angeles

Kids In Sports was founded in 1994 with proceeds earmarked for volunteer based nonprofit organizations from the 1984 Los Angeles Olympic Games. The mission of Kids in Sports (KIS) is to provide high quality, low cost, sport opportunities for underserved youth across Los Angeles through the formation & management of community based sports clubs. Throughout the year, three seasons of team sports are provided @ each of KIS twelve sports clubs. All 12 clubs are managed & operated by Kids in Sports LA’s strong program staff & assisted by KIS trained neighborhood volunteers. Parents, park staff, school personnel and other interested neighborhood adults are recruited to volunteer their time as coaches, team parents, officials & sports club advisory committee members. The program itself focuses on serving children ages 5-17 who live in poor, underserved neighborhoods with few affordable resources devoted to local youth.
