MobileBurn.com - The Samsung Galaxy Tab 8.9 Android tablet is the kid brother to the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and was originally announced at CTIA back in April of this year. Samsung is finally releasing it to market, and the final specifications have not changed since its launch. It is the same thing as the larger Galaxy Tab 10.1, but with a 1.2 inch smaller display. The 8.9 is powered by the now-familiar dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM that we have seen on many Android Honeycomb tablets. It comes in 16GB and 32GB capacities. Like the 10.1, the 8.9 is very thin and light, measuring only 8.6mm thin and weighing 447g. It runs Android 3.1 Honeycomb with Samsung's TouchWiz user interface. Interested buyers can pick up the Galaxy Tab 8.9 on October 2. The 16GB model costs $469, while the 32GB edition is $569.
