Audism is a concept that clearly designates the negative, and oppressive discrimination against Deaf. Audism denigrates Deaf because speech and hear are THE references which build all the social norms. Deaf people must reach them, willingly or unwillingly, no matter they MUST.Audism creates a frame that encloses, alienates Deaf. Without speech (voice = power), Deaf have no or less rules as citizens.
Surdism is a philosophical , artistic and intellectual movement, which promotes all Deaf proud actions in the world. Deafhood and signs build our community.Our community, is a human and cultural opening to the world through signs, shared values, and common spirit=Deaf gain.
