A few kilometers from Saint Jean de Luz (S-W of France), there is an amazing rack railway to climb up to La Rhune summit (Alt. 905 meters).
This tourist line was opened in 1924.
The rackrailway goes through magnificent landscapes of the "montagne Basque" till the upper station where the view over the region seems unlimited (if weather permitting) !
