"Knee arthroscopy is typically done on people with a meniscus tear. The meniscus cartilage is essentially a cushion in the knee that doesn't have a very good blood supply. So people, either from an injury, or sometimes just twisting or turning around can tear their meniscus."
"It can be extremely painful and debilitating and we're able, through knee arthroscopy, to repair the meniscus or to breathe it, basically to take out the fragments that are torn. That takes the patient's pain away."
