The Science Behind Ionized Alkaline Water

Ionized alkaline water is negatively charged, rendering it a natural anti-oxidant - a free radical scavenger. Numerous scientific studies have shown that anti-oxidants reduce cellular and DNA damage caused by free radicals. The ionization process also makes water wetter by reducing its cluster size from the average 13 molecules to six. The smaller clusters size gives water excellent hydrating properties. It also causes the water to better penetrate fats in oils causing them to emulsify and break down much better.

On the other hand, acidic positively charged ORP water plays a large role in killing various micro organisms. The positive ORP of a solution is an indicator of its ability to oxidize a substance. In the case of micro-organisms, sufficient oxidation kills the organism. In the industrial setting, this water is referred to as EO - electrolyzed water.

It is hypothesized that the combination of low pH and high positive ORP sensitizes the outer membrane of bacterial cells, thereby enabling hypochlorous acid to enter the cells more efficiently for cell death.

With all this scientifically proven information and the practical uses around the home, I think its a great idea to incorporate this type of water in to your home and in to your life. Thanks for being open to new ways to improve the quality of your life.
