The Chinese regime is accusing Japan of being "irresponsible" for having released a defense white paper earlier this week about the regime's naval forces posing a threat.

Japan's annual defense report says the Chinese regime is overbearing in its attitude towards disputed territories in the South China Sea, and that its military budget is not transparent.

Chinese officials insist their defense spending is not aimed at any other country. Defense Ministry Spokesman Geng Yansheng said Japan had ulterior motives and was exaggerating about China's military threat. Japan's defense ministry dismissed the charges.

The paper noted the Chinese regime's defense spending had increased 70 percent in five years and that its announced budget is widely believed to be only part of its actual expenditure.

The Chinese regime announced earlier this year it would spend about $91.7 billion on its military in 2011—a 12.7 percent increase from last year.
